Khaleej Times reported that more than 400 ministers and federal officials attended the Agentic AI Retreat in Abu Dhabi on 20 May, with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. WAM said the first cohort has four agents: procurement, tax auditing, customer happiness and technical support. WAM said the tax auditing agent handles data verification and tax review, with the aim of better compliance, faster audits and higher-quality results. Dubai Media Office reported that ADNOC has trained 20,000 employees to build their own job-specific AI models, with 3,000 now in daily use. Khaleej Times said Luukas Ilves, co-founder of The Agentic State initiative, also spoke. The National and Fast Company Middle East covered the launch. What it adds up to
Look at how the first agents are designed. The customer happiness agent finds information so a person can answer faster, and the person still gives the answer. That’s usually the safest first job for AI in any role. Pick the agent closest to your own work: buying, checking, answering queries or fixing IT problems. Then write down the one step where you spend the most time looking things up. Hand that lookup to an AI assistant this week, and keep the final answer yours.
