Dubai gives its private sector two years to adopt agentic AI

WAM reported that on 4 May, Sheikh Hamdan launched the initiative under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, to move Dubai’s private sector to agentic AI within two years.
WAM said Sheikh Hamdan directed the Chamber to set up incubators for agentic AI companies, create opportunities for young people in the field, and establish dedicated funds.
The Next Web said the programme includes training tracks for every business council affiliated with Dubai Chamber of Commerce. It came 11 days after the federal plan to run half of government on agentic AI.
Gulf News described agentic AI as AI that can act independently to complete tasks, not just respond to commands.
Business leaders including Al-Futtaim Group’s Omar Al Futtaim and Mashreq chairman Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair backed the plan, according to WAM and Fast Company Middle East.
Arabian Business reported on 11 June that Sheikh Hamdan reviewed a roadmap to support 295,000 Dubai companies. The National quoted him saying the goal is to make Dubai the world’s leading AI hub.
The Next Web reported in September that training had started through Dubai Chambers, but no amounts had yet been attached to the incubators or funds.
