Dubai Media Office reported that Digital Dubai launched AI+ on 15 April to train 50,000 Dubai Government employees. WAM said it’s delivered with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the Dubai Centre for AI, under the Dubai Future Foundation. Dubai Media Office said training tracks are tailored to job categories. A dedicated track for Chief AI Officers covers implementing Dubai’s AI policy and framework, with case studies from government entities. Computer Weekly said the role-based tracks reflect a wider trend of tailoring AI skills to job function rather than offering generic digital literacy. Computer Weekly quoted Digital Dubai Director General Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori describing a shift from employees as technology users to “co-designers” of digital services. WAM quoted Dubai Future Foundation CEO Khalfan Belhoul calling it a milestone in AI adoption across Dubai Government. Gulf News, Arabian Business and ETHRWorld also covered the launch. What it adds up to
AI+ has a dedicated track for Chief AI Officers, so Dubai’s government entities have someone responsible for applying the same AI policy. Many private companies have no one in that role. That leaves questions unanswered: which tools are allowed, what data can go in, and who approves a new use. This week, find out who in your organisation owns those decisions. If nobody does, send your manager a short note with the three questions you’d want that person to answer.
